Supporting temporary Covid-19 hospitals with medical quality air

HPC and its distributor Air Methods have provided equipment for a medical compressed air station for a temporary hospital set up as part of the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Whilst compressed air is essential to a wide range of industries it is a particularly critical resource for specialist medical applications, and especially so during Covid-19,” explains Mark Jackson, Director of Business Development, for HPC. “Typically, in hospitals it is used for driving ventilators, producing enriched oxygen for assisted breathing, and operating pneumatic surgical tools.”

“In this case, it was also crucial that the equipment was delivered within a very short lead time to get the hospital gas system up and running,” Mark continues.

HPC was able to quickly meet the requirement for four high efficiency, sound-proof rotary screw compressors for the hospital medical gas systems, delivering four HPC KAESER ASD 60 Direct Drive Compressors the next day via Air Methods, which completed the installation within a week.
